Fantastic post Don! I am too young to have experienced the Avro Arrow debacle first-hand, but I have read a fair amount regarding the project cancellation and I do not want to see the same thing happen to these Nortel assets.

For as long as I can remember (I am 25), Canada has been responsible for some of the finest engineering and technological advancements in the world, but sadly we have not held onto enough of them. Sure, we have the high-profile Canadarm, but losing potentially lucrative (on a country-wide scale) patents would be a shame for all of us Canadians. Nortel produced (and is still developing) some of the best technology/IP in the world. It would be a shame to see these leave our country.

I look forward to reading other commentary on this post.
