Can collaboration help bridge religious divides?

I thought I’d point out a very neat application of mass collaboration that’s currently underway at www.charterforcompassion.com.

It’s presented as a staged approach to developing a common religious Charter that highlights what the world’s religions have in common, rather than how they differ. Written by anyone and everyone, the four week project – we’re halfway through the first week so you’ve only got 61 hours left to help write the preamble – aims to “remind the world that while all faiths are not the same, they all share the core principle of compassion and the Golden Rule.” It will conclude with a series of actions aimed at educators, scholars, religious leaders, the media and youth related to making this happen.

Just one more example of how collaborative technologies that mitigate distance and language can help make the world a better place by helping find common interests and insights.
