Not to get ultra-geeky, but for those interested, one commentator on the CBC article notes that perhaps CBC’s holograms are not really holograms either:
“A piece pointing out that CNN got it wrong, also got it wrong. A hologram is not ‘projected into space’, other than by R2D2 and for the avoidance of doubt, that is just a movie, not real. A hologram appears in 3D space when viewed through a holographic plate; there is no projection involved, other than shining the reference laser onto the plate the reconstruct the image. This is not ‘projection into space’.”
Ok, now all together: “Aw, but I was going to Tashi Station to pick up some power converters!”
