Top 50 wikis
A hard working blogger has recently compiled a list of top 50 wikis as ranked by Alexa and Google’s PageRank system. Unsurprisingly, Wikipedia is at the top. A good part of the list includes wikis dedicated to collaboration around software and technology. More mainstream wikis are built around travel, Q&A, books and other encyclopedias.
The rankings may be affected by the fact that some of the wikis, such as second ranked Adobe Labs, are part of a larger site which receives non-wiki related traffic. Despite that, the list is a useful demonstration of the growing use and popularity of the collaborative publishing tool. The top five wikis made it into the list of 1000 most visited websites.
