Dell hears customers loud and clear

Dell hears customers loud and clear In order to get back in touch with what its’ customers wanted Dell created Ideastrom. Ideastorm was a Digg like site that allows users to contribute, comment and vote on ideas on how to improve Dell computers and customer support.

After running for only a short time the communities message was loud and clear. Almost 120,000 votes were for the idea that Dell should make a laptop that comes preinstalled with Linux, far and away the most popular suggestion. Now, to Dells credit they are following up promptly on this idea and according to Steven Vaughan-Nichols of DesktopLinux.com “the company will be releasing select desktop and notebook systems with pre-installed Linux as an option in the coming weeks.”
