A novel wiki experiment
An experimental wiki novel, which publisher Penguin says will be the first started from stratch by a major publishing house, is now online. As noted in the early reports, the publisher has no idea what to really expect – is it going to a bowl of alphabet spaghetti, or will it be good enough to publish as a remix? It will certainly be interesting to watch what happens (if the current characters stay the same) to Carlo, Liz, and their little dog Inu, because a novel – where each chapter, ideally, would build on the previous – is a smaller but far more difficult collaborative exercise then (say) an encyclopedia. Of course, we’re hoping the best wiki chapter ever written will be found here.
