A couple of thoughtful and in-depth reviews of Wikinomics

Peter Wayner posted a long, in-depth review of Wikinomics on Slashdot yesterday. His summary of the book “the pros and cons of wikis and their place in business”. Aside from the fact that it was a well done review, it’s always cool to be ‘Slashdotted’ (for those who are interested read the Slashdot effect, fittingly a Wikipedia article). There was another good review posted by John Blossom titled “Reading List: Wikinomics Lays Out the Case for Nomadic Economics Based on Collaborative Publishing”

I am almost done reading the book and loving it. As a technologist and avid Amazon reviewer (#80), I will most definitely be reviewing it shortly.

In a post about The World Is Flat, I recommended to people who wanted to technology/economics focus to skip that book and pick this one up. I’ve found it to be much more focused on these topics than Freedman’s work.

Just read an excellent review of the book in Management Today (UK) by Roger Parry (chair of YouGov) – he finishes ‘This is one of the best business books I have read for years. If you are running a business, you would be cavalier not to take on board its messages. Wikinomics is an important book on a fascinating subject’. I could not have said better myself!
